A brilliant British low-budget black comedy about modern terrorism.
Set almost 10 years after 9/11 and five years after the 7/7 attacks in London, it centers on a small group of Islamist jihadists from Sheffield, all heavily determined to blow themselves up. From the opening scene, we realize that they are all complete idiots and more of a threat to themselves than anyone else. As they debate their doctrine and methods, they think about using birds as explosive devices, creating hip-hop video messages, or attacking mosques in an effort to provoke the non-violent Muslims.
Although dealing with the sensitive and uncomfortable subject of terrorism, the film is not at all made in a manner that would arise any controversy on the matter, proving to be a highly entertaining and extremely funny piece of work, that no true fan of black comedy should miss.
Plot summary from IMDb: Four incompetent British jihadists set out to train for and commit an act of terror.
Awards: Won 1 BAFTA Film Award. Another 8 wins & 22 nominations.
