After three teenagers kill Avery Ludlow's dog for no good reason, he tracks them down and tries to bring them to justice, but when seeing this is of no consequence, he decides to get retribution his own way.
Based on the novel of the same name by Jack Ketchum, Red is a bleak and often somber revenge film which gives Brian Cox (Ludlow) the opportunity to prove he is one of the most underrated actors of all time.
Red is a vicious and brutal parable on human cruelty in the Jack Ketchum tradition that imagines a world in which good and evil are clear-cut, and absolute justice is worth pursuing despite heavy collateral damage.
