A modern Mark Twain style adventure story, The Peanut Butter Falcon tells the story of Zak, a young man with Down syndrome, who runs away from a residential nursing home to follow his dream of attending the professional wrestling school of his idol, The Salt Water Redneck (Thomas Haden Church). A strange turn of events pairs him on the road with Tyler (Shia LaBeouf), a small time outlaw on the run, who becomes Zak's unlikely coach and ally. Together they wind through deltas, elude capture, drink whisky, find God, catch fish, and convince Eleanor (Dakota Johnson), a kind nursing home employee charged with Zak's return, to join them on their journey.

 

Plot summary from IMDb: The Peanut Butter Falcon is a prison break movie and Western where horses and desert prairie are replaced with crab boats, rafts & sand islands. It's a Southern living in the world of a modern Mark Twain that begins when Zak, a 22-year-old young man with Down syndrome runs away from a nursing home to chase his dream of becoming a professional wrestler by attending the wrestling school of The Salt Water Redneck. Through circumstances beyond their control Tyler (29), a small time outlaw on the run becomes Zak's unlikely wrestling coach and ally, and together they wind through deltas & marshes, elude capture, drink whisky, find God, catch fish, and convince Eleanor (27) a beautiful nursing home employee to join them on their journey rather than returning Zak to his previous life.
