After randomly receiving a video of his best friend Chris, a drug addict with an unpredictable behavior, Mike decides to pay him a visit at the remote abandoned cabin he's living in, to help him overcome his addiction by using any means necessary. In the days that follow, Mike discovers a series of signs that hint at a larger, perhaps supernatural force that's at play, and as the movie's plot progresses, things get weirder and weirder.
Although it reminds of movies like The Cabin in the Woods, Resolution is unlike other horror films you've seen. Really confusing at times, but nevertheless entertaining and absorbing, with a mysterious sense of dread accompanying every frame, this piece of low-budget, genre-bending filmmaking that will make your head explode, is a must-see for every true horror fan.
Plot summary from IMDb: Soon-to-be-a-dad Michael makes a last ditch effort to save his longtime but addicted friend Chris from a foreseeable drug related death. Visiting Chris and handcuffing him to an exposed plumbing pipe, Michael forces his buddy into detox, but while watching over his friend he also discovers that all is not right within the territory Chris has drifted into. Situated on Indian Reservation land, the area seems to attract a number of strange people. Someone or some thing has a longtime interest in recording activities in the area, all captured on a variety of recording devices (CDs, film, phonographs, etc.). Michael comes to understand he's been pulled into the latest "story" of an unseen entity, one with a grizzly resolution projected for him and his pal unless they can possibly work out their own agreeable alternate ending.
