A young aspiring musician joins an avant-garde band called the Soronpfrbs, to help them record their first album.
Michael Fassbender stars as Frank, the leader of the group, a mysterious and enigmatic musical genius who hides behind a big cartoonish papier mache head that he never takes off.
During the their stay at a remote place, where the band retreats for a period of several months to record their album, things get a little rocky between the newcomer and Clara, Frank's over-protective bandmate (Maggie Gyllenhaal) while the other band members don't even seem to speak English.
Plot summary from IMDb: Jon, a young wanna-be musician, discovers he's bitten off more than he can chew when he joins an eccentric pop band led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank.
