After the passing of his wife, Shmuel (Géza Röhrig, Son of Saul), a Hasidic Jewis cantor from Upstate New York, becomes incredibly obsessed and intrigued by the burial of his wife. Curious as to how the body decomposes and how she will look after a certain amount of time, he enlists the help of Albert (Matthew Broderick), a local community college professor. Together they embark on a journey of scientific discovery and curiosity in order to bring Shmuel some closure.
