A mysterious visitor shows up unexpectedly at the doorstep of the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son, who was killed in action while serving in Iraq, where they served together. Still in grief for the loss of their son, they let him in, invite him to stay with them for a couple of days, and he slowly becomes very close to the family. But after the occurrence of a series of local 'accidental' deaths, we learn that the stranger is not quite what he claims to be.
Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens delivers a fascinating and compelling performance as David, a special ops soldier who insinuates himself into a heartland family’s life, in this tension-filled psychological thriller directed by Adam Wingard (You're Next).
With a very entertaining and convincing premise, a smartly written script, a well-judged music score and plenty of thrilling action, this film is sure to please if you're a fan of suspense.
