"In a time of crisis a hero must rise...from his sofa."

Shaun of the Dead is a British horror comedy directed by Edgar Wright and written by Wright and Simon Pegg, starring Pegg and Nick Frost. The film was a critical and commercial success in the UK and the US, and has caught the compliments of some notable stars of cinematography and literature. Quentin Tarantino said it's one of his top twenty films made since 1992. Stephen King has described it as "...a '10' on the fun meter and destined to be a cult classic". George Romero , the father of the zombie movie, was so impressed that he gave a cameo in The Land of the Living Dead to Wright and Pegg, while Peter "The Lord of the Rings" Jackson loved the movie so much that he wanted to have a bizarre appearance in the second film of Wright, Hot Fuzz - he is the man dressed as Santa Claus, who stabs the police officer Nicholas Angel in the prologue of the film.

Pegg plays Shaun, a 29 year old young man who lives in the suburbs of London, with no particular aspirations in life. He has problems at work, in his relashionship with Liz, and with his estranged stepfather. One day Shaun wakes up in a London overrun by the living dead. When it becomes clear that city is crawling with zombies, Shaun and his good buddy Ed lead a small band of survivors to the obvious stronghold: the Winchester, their local pub.

Plot summary from IMDb: Shaun doesn't have a very good day, so he decides to turn his life around by getting his ex to take him back, but he times it for right in the middle of what may be a zombie apocalypse... But for him, it's an opportunity to show everyone he knows how useful he is by saving them all. All he has to do is survive... And get his ex back.
